Eko launches FDA-cleared CORE 300 stethoscope with AI murmur detection
Eko Health launched the CORE 300, a stethoscope that switches between analog listening and digital modes by twisting the chestpiece. It has adult and pediatric diaphragms. Eko says the FDA 510(k) clearance came in July, and its cleared AI flags suspected structural heart murmurs from recordings. The device lists at $199, and the AI analysis needs an Eko+ subscription at $119.99 a year.
Why it's notable: It puts AI-assisted murmur screening into an ordinary-looking stethoscope at a lower price than earlier Eko models. That could make the screening practical for primary care and pediatric clinics that skipped digital devices.
