EliseAI raises $350M, expands agentic AI for specialty physician groups

EliseAI raised $350 million led by Andreessen Horowitz and Bessemer Venture Partners, with Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan, Sapphire Ventures and Navitas Capital also participating, taking its valuation to $4 billion, the company announced September 29, 2026. Its healthcare division automates the administrative patient journey for specialty physician groups: inbound calls, referral intake, scheduling, insurance eligibility verification, pre-visit chart prep and post-visit follow-up, built on the same agentic platform (recently extended with an AI teammate called Apollo) that the company originally developed for apartment leasing. EliseAI says it now handles about 5 million calls a month across its housing and healthcare businesses combined but does not disclose healthcare-specific revenue.

Why it's notable: It is one of the largest funding rounds this year for AI that automates clinic front-office work rather than clinical documentation, and the money is earmarked partly to grow healthcare-specific engineering and deployment teams. For clinic operators, it signals more investment flowing into agentic tools aimed at referral, scheduling and insurance-verification bottlenecks, the administrative load that competes with patient care for staff time.
