Heidi launches agents that complete clinic admin tasks, not just draft notes
Heidi Health launched Heidi II, moving its ambient scribe platform from drafting notes to having AI agents carry out the administrative follow-up work those visits generate: pre-charting schedules, auditing referral correspondence, and flagging overdue screenings and immunizations across a clinic's calendars, EHR, portals and email. Clinician approval is required before the agents execute clinical decisions or communications. The company says its platform already surfaces about 10 million follow-up tasks a week across 2.8 million weekly patient interactions in 190 countries; Heidi II began rolling out September 29 in English and French, and is not yet available in the UK or EU.
Why it's notable: Ambient scribes have mostly stopped at writing the note and leaving the resulting to-do list for clinicians to clear themselves; automating that follow-through, under supervision, targets a large chunk of the administrative load clinics cite as a driver of burnout.
