NYU Langone embeds OpenEvidence in Epic across its hospitals and clinics
NYU Langone Health and OpenEvidence announced on October 29, 2026 that OpenEvidence will be built into NYU Langone's Epic EHR as "Patient Aware Clinical Intelligence." Clinicians can ask clinical questions in natural language and get answers drawn from peer-reviewed literature with patient context, without leaving Epic. It covers the system's hospitals, ambulatory network and Family Health Centers, and trainees at its medical schools. NYU Langone reports about 12.4 million outpatient visits a year.
Why it's notable: A large academic system is putting a clinician-facing AI reference tool inside the chart, with patient context, rather than leaving it as a separate app. Other systems have made similar moves, and this one shows the model spreading.
